Ek Pahel in association with Ministry of Labour and Employment under National Child Labour Program started a centre for rehabiliation of minority children previously engaged in child labour to prepare them for mainstream education.
Activities Covered under the Project:
- Impart free of cost high quality education to 125 underprivileged children belonging to minorities community at our primary school "NCLP � Special Training Centre" in Kamla Nagar, Agra
- Provide a healthy one time meal to the children and women
- Distribute books, bags, bottles, uniforms, stationery, etc. to the students
- Sensitize children and their families about the need and importance of education through nukad nataks
- Sponsor higher education of high potential students who have passed out from our school
- Organise physical education classes regularly
- Organise activity/hobby classes for the students during vacations
- One �to-one pyschological counselling of students by experts
The teaching methodology adopted by the teachers at NCLP � Special Training Centre is quite novel. Special emphasis is given on techniques in developing students� interest in studies.
Future Directions:
- Improve the infrastructure of "NCLP � Special Training Centre" with special focus on:
- Increasing the number of classrooms so as to run parallel classes for students of different age groups
- Construct large play grounds
- Construct hygienic washrooms
- Start yoga classes for children
- Facilities and equipments for outdoor sports
- Arrange a van for providing pick and drop facilities to the students coming from far off places
- Sponsor the education of more number of high potential students in good recognized schools
